Each year, GVEA awards 8 scholarships:
- Scholarships are awarded in the spring, which correlates to the timing of Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA)’s Annual Members’ Meeting
- This application period is typically open from the beginning of November through the beginning of March.
- Forms will be available during that time period
- To be eligible for any GVEA scholarship, the applicant (or member of the applicant’s immediate family) must be a member of Golden Valley Electric Association and receive electric power from GVEA at his/her principal residence
Please note: The application period for the Career and Technical Education Scholarship was previously between April and July. All 8 scholarships now have the same application period and will be awarded at GVEA’s Annual Meeting each year.
The application window for all scholarships is now open.
- The deadline to submit applications was Monday, March 3, 2025.
- The Scholarship Committee will meet in April 2025 and select the scholarship recipients via a “blind-copy” process.
- Once the Committee comes to a decision on scholarship award winners, all applicants will be notified via email or telephone.
For direct questions/inquiries: call (907) 458-5862 or email GVEA Scholarships.
Scholarship Requirements and Instructions
Note: The application must be completed online. Your essay, two references and your most recent transcripts (NOT a report card) must be uploaded in the application form.
